Sod installation questions we get a lot
Do you remove the old grass before installing new sod?
Yes. Our standard process includes removing the existing turf in the install area, light surface correction, and installing fresh sod so it sits properly. We do not provide heavy grading or drainage correction.
Do you offer grading or leveling services?
No. Suhr Sod Installation is a sod-only service. We perform light surface preparation and smoothing, but full grading, excavation, leveling or drainage correction must be completed before we arrive.
Which areas do you serve?
We focus on the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Newmarket, Aurora, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Markham, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and surrounding neighbourhoods. If you are just outside that zone, ask and we can confirm.
When is the best time to install sod in Ontario?
The most reliable windows are spring and early fall, when temperatures are cooler and watering is easier to manage. Our seasonal model is built around those peak installation periods.
How far in advance should I book a Spring 2026 install?
Because the season is short and we only book a limited number of jobs per week, reserving early is smart. Once the calendar fills, additional jobs get pushed later into the season.
